The highly anticipated Natsume's Book of Friends (Natsume Yūjin-chō) returns with its seventh season, set to premiere on October 7, 2024. Fans of the series can look forward to new opening and ending theme songs that perfectly capture the heartwarming and mystical essence of the show. 

The opening theme, titled "Hoshizora" (Starry Sky), is performed by the talented artist Sasanomaly, known for his ethereal and emotionally charged music. The ending theme, "Kaze no Uta" (Song of the Wind), is a soothing ballad by Aimer, whose voice brings a gentle yet powerful close to each episode.

A Glimpse into the New Season

The latest promotional video for Season 7 offers a sneak peek at what fans can expect. The video highlights the return of Takashi Natsume, the protagonist with the ability to see spirits, and his ever-present companion Nyanko-sensei, a powerful spirit trapped in the form of a lucky cat. 

The new season promises to delve deeper into Natsume’s interactions with both human and spirit worlds, exploring the complexities of his relationships with the spirits in his grandmother’s Book of Friends. The promo also teases new challenges for Natsume, as he continues to return the names of spirits bound by his grandmother.

Season 7 will continue to feature the characters fans have grown to love, including Natsume’s close friends—Tanuma, who can sense spirits, and Taki, who uses spiritual tools to interact with the supernatural. 

Additionally, viewers can expect to see the recurring presence of Natori, a famous exorcist who has a complicated relationship with Natsume, and Matoba, the head of an exorcist clan with his own dark ambitions.
